Chapter 1-1[]
Ssum, a spa brand, offers MC the opportunity for a concept photoshoot with Hansol which she accepts as they are well-known. While looking at the concept she realises how well it suits him. On the day of the photoshoot Hansol is extremely excited the entire time, wondering if he will gain more fans from it. At one point in time he unintentionally lets slip his actual age of 250 which confuses the photographers, and MC has to quickly cut in and claim he was joking.
During a break MC and Hansol head to a lounge. Shortly after arriving MC notices discomfort in his body language and expresses concern, to which Hansol initially assures her he is fine. After a while, he nervously asks if they can go somewhere else, looking around the lounge before his gaze freezes on a boy.
Chapter 1-5[]
MC asks Hansol if he knows the boy and he responds with surprise at her question. He attempts to change the subject but she persists and realises he resembles Hansol before asking him if he has a brother. She corrects herself immediately, saying he wouldn't have one as he is a goblin. When Hansol finally speaks, he tells her that it is not him the boy resembles but his younger brother.
MC is surprised to learn this. He begins to recall his human past but is unable to continue, as it causes him sadness.
The narration text reveals to us Hansol's former human identity: The third child in a high-ranked family that ran an inn for merchants in Joseon, and his parents' first son. Hansol is said to have been a bright child with an "outstanding appearance" who received a lot of love and attention until Jungho, his younger brother, was born when Hansol was seven. Jungho began receiving more attention than him and his affection for Jungho turned into bitter jealousy, at times tugging his hair and pinching him. Eventually, Hansol would go as far as to ignore his brother completely after realising that picking on Jungho would attract more attention to Jungho. However, Jungho never stopped trying to get Hansol's attention despite his older brother's coldness.
We are brought back to the present where we see it has been Hansol narrating this the entire time, revealing at the end that his behaviour caused Jungho to get into an accident but adds no further details. MC is shocked and seeing her reaction, Hansol quickly backtracks and denies what he had just said while laughing guiltily.
Chapter 1-9[]
Hansol is told he is a bad brother by MC, who says nothing more about it afterwards due to Hansol seeming reluctant to continue. She briefly wonders why Jungho admired him. Hansol in response attempts to downplay his actions and even recounts a rare moment in which he was kind to his younger brother.
Jungho had run out of paper while practicing his calligraphy and took a roll of silk out of a pile to write on, thinking nobody would notice it missing. However, his father discovered one roll of silk was missing while counting them and began to blame the errand boy who delivered them. Jungho overheard them and panicked. While back at the gazebo where his calligraphy was, he encountered Hansol who walked off without saying anything. Jungho was convinced Hansol would expose him only to learn Hansol had replaced the missing silk roll with one of his own which was of a higher quality, saying nothing of what Jungho had done.
Hansol asks MC if what he did was "kind and cool" but she bluntly tells him she believes he only did so because of his refusal to mention his younger brother's name to their father. Hansol flinches, proving her right. MC says the only thing he did right was replacing the silk. After a brief back-and-forth, they return to the studio.
